The Åsele municipality encompasses a scenic area of 4235 km², which has over fifty nature reserves and a national park. The area serves as winter grazing land for two Sami villages. Åsele Municipality (Sjeltien tjïelte in Southern Sami) is a Sami administrative area, and knowledge of the Sami language is an asset in certain professions.

Södra Lapplands Avfall & Vatten is looking for a Sludge Truck Driver in Åsele

Job Responsibilities

As a driver at Södralapplands Avfall & Vatten AB, you will have an exciting and challenging job. You will primarily be responsible for driving sludge from individual wells, emptying stormwater wells, and flushing sewers during the summer season. In the winter season, you will perform winter road maintenance, truck driving, and other tasks. On-call duty will be part of the job.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is confident in their professional role, has a positive attitude towards helping others, and is seeking new challenges. It is important that you have a strong sense of service and a professional approach. You should also have good teamwork skills and appreciate the variety between independent work and collaboration.

Applicants must have at least a C driving license with a valid YKB and good experience driving trucks. Experience operating a wheel loader and training for vehicle-mounted cranes is an asset but not a requirement.

You should have basic computer skills, be interested in technology, and be able to express yourself clearly in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

Scope of Work

100% permanent position with a 6-month probation period. Start date: Immediate.

Additional Information

Södralapplands Avfall och Vatten AB is a municipal-owned operating company established in 2024, responsible for waste, water, and sewage in Dorotea and Åsele municipalities. We consist of 30 employees. The Water and Sewage Unit is responsible for the operation of water plants and treatment facilities. The Waste Unit is responsible for the collection of municipal waste, sludge, hazardous waste, and the operation of recycling centers.
